5 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Getting Married

~ Who am I really? Sounds simple but it can be very complex. Who are you? What are your fears? What makes you truly happy? What are your triggers? All these things make up who you are, It’s imperative to know “you” so your spouse can know you.


~ What is it that I love about my spouse? Feelings aren’t always enough. You need to be in love with character as well as how he makes you feel. When he can’t make you feel good, do you still love him?

~ Are you core beliefs and his comparable? Religious beliefs, finances, career goals, politics, family planning, and physical intimacy are just some things that need discussed prior to marriage.


~ Do you feel safe? Are you able to be vulnerable with your spouse? How do you handle conflict? Having conflict is inevitable in relationships, however you should be able to solve problems and communicate effectively without being afraid.


~ Is the relationship making me better or worse? Does your spouse bring out the best or worse in you?. If your spouse doesn’t help you become the best you, you may be headed for disaster. Your spouse should be your number one cheerleader and help you live your best life.
